DEAR BABE IN AGRICULTURE!!!
I feel what you feel, I know what you are going through, I can understand so deeply what you go through each time you get to the final stage of a job application and you realize you cannot go further because you don't have the expected qualification, probably because you studied Agriculture. It’s what makes you special my dear babe, I have heard a lot of female agric graduate regret probably because it was difficult for them to get a job and stuffs. Forget it!!!
A bunch of them further goes to study another course and direct
their life pattern in another course which is not agro-related. Where you are currently work might be too comfortable for you. However, if you do have an intention of farming
afterwards then it may make sense to make money. This article is focused on what we must do as ladies in the agricultural sector.
Allow
me to explain the mind of an employer when they see that you are a graduate of
agriculture and you are seeking to work with them.
. THEY FEEL VERY JEALOUS:
I used the word jealous because most times we
cry when we are rejected by an employer, the point basically is that the
employer is seeing the beautiful potentials on your C.V, immediately anyone
sees agriculture they see the future speaking, they wish they weren’t the one that have to employ you, they know that you have the potentials to even employ
them. I mean this because In the real sense food rules the entire life of man. This is because you are the real deal. You own the key to the real stuff and you are still young enough to work. And also you are uniquely a female in agriculture. Aren't you special?
THEY WANT TO BE LIKE YOU:
Funny right? I mean what will make an employer aspire to be like one of his prospective employee? It’s simple, it
because he is human, he eats daily and would like his
food to be self produced, and seeing someone with the capacity of self producing food makes him wish he had the opportunity you were exposed to. if possible, he would like to start a farm of his
own and monitor it, he also would like to stop eating junks and start eating
fresh food from the farm that is why he will REJECT YOU. HE NEEDS HIS FARMER. Although he cannot make it to the farm, then someone can go. Therefore you loose the chance of getting employed.
THEY WANT YOU TO PURSUE YOUR CAREER:
Every rational employer begins to think that the moment they employ
you, their hope of getting food to eat is reducing, they will really like to
empower you, they want you back on the farm and get your hands dirty so that the
country will be a better place. They will even possibly sponsor your further knowledge of agriculture so you can have enough skills needed to make the country a better place.
10 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR FARMING DREAM ALIVE
1.
Don’t feel bad if
you are not called upon for a job you want dearly, rather see it as a challenge to make the world a better place. It's a wake up call for your agriculture.
2.
If you are already
working babe have plans to start your own farm it could be alongside your job, as long as you find happiness doing both. But if your current job doesn't give you peace babe please quit and start your farm
3.
Do not kill your
zeal for agriculture, you can still further in agriculture if you want to. Its very easy to feel frustrated with the trends in the world. Remember they will fall back to agriculture soon and Agric will be the basic trend.
4.
If you don’t know
what to do then look for any agricultural farm and apply to volunteer for a while
just to gain more experience. These days you learn more by offering a service you don't get paid for.
5.
Start small, it has been discovered that growing
big in agriculture begins from a small beginning, don’t feel frustrated keep up
with it. After a while you will see the result.
6.
Know that everyone
is actually depending on you for survival: the moment you don’t join the
millions of people growing food you are gradually reducing the survival rate. Food is a major component for survival. Let's join the millions of people who supports survival.
7.
Be Yourself: You are
a farmer don’t feel ashamed when you are referred to as one. Love being a
farmer. Attach your self to agriculture.

Also note that studying
agriculture is not a mistake, you are a farmer because you are not to seek for job you are to be a job creator so
don’t hesitate to add value in any capacity you can, especially as it relates to farming.
9.
Let God be at the
center of your life. Life itself began with God. And agriculture is the first
and foremost God given profession. So put God in your profession and you will become master in the profession
10.
Remember that you
begin to love life the moment you begin to love agriculture. Please don't keep the secret to your self you can bring in friends to the club get them interested in agriculture and let's together secure food in Nigeria.
